A fresh approach to this weekend newsletter and a print zine
Welcome back to the 27th weekend edition and the first in S4.
To celebrate we are launching a print zine (and publishing pressโbut more on that at another date).
The print zine collects everything we published in S3. It's ready for the printers, but we are trying a patronage/sponsor model to help offset some of the initial costs. The Patron Saints will get to fill 1/4 of a page to put whatever they want (kind of like a brick at Disney!) plus receive a copy of the zine, a Patron Saint membership card, some stickers, and three months of a [+] subscription. If that interests you, you can read more about it or jump straight away to become one of our eight patrons. Existing [+] subscribers will get a print copy and [+] membership card for freeโand can become a Patron at a discounted rate, just reach out!
We've already filled one of the Patron Saint spots so if you might be interested, there are seven slots remaining. Regular pre-orders at a slightly discounted rate will go live Friday before we officially send it off the the printers in two weeks.
We've also changed things up a bit around here.
Rather than publishing everything within the Weekend Edition on Friday's, we've started publishing more and more on the site throughout the week (one thing everyday to be exactโso far).
This newsletter will be a roundup of everything we published during the week for those that don't check in everyday or use RSS (I promise you'll be able to choose which e-mails you want to receive soon... and this won't become a sales pitch e-mail.)
Lastly, for paid [+] subscribers, I'll have a column at the end to talk about... well... whatever I want, as well as touch on some of the tv, comics, movies, and albums I enjoyed during the week, both new and old.
Joel Glover brings us the third story in the Cavendish Mining Company world. Lots more in store for CMC and I can't wait to continue to see this world get more and more fleshed out through these short stories.
James York is back with his monthly gaming column. I always love getting his unique perspective, focusing on indie games, teaching, all while being based in Japan.
Tony Tran has been spending a lot more time playing Elden Ring with the new DLC and brings us a killer sketch that feels very old time-y scroll-like.
And of course, we had the return of The Media Guide on Monday and Review of Links on Friday (for [+] subscribers).
