rules, democracy, and flashlights...

Good morning!
Next week is the last week of season five before we really turn up the dial for season six! I'm incredibly excited and I hope you are too. Now sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
But before we move on... can you believe the NBA Finals are going to a game seven. Nuts. I really can't believe Indiana has pushed OKC this far; I had OKC in five... And now it all comes down to tomorrow. I still think OKC will pull it off, but at this point, I don't think anything would surprise me.
Okay, now onto the good stuff.

Back in Chicago
moving a mile a minute
but feeling jet lagged
First up this week, Nick is back with a surprise Tuesday column! We had an opening to fill and he saved my ass in coming up with his most personal essay yet.

This week's short story is a bit reminiscent in style to the first story we ever publishedโbringing a light-hearted cheekiness to some thought-provoking topics. It's a bit of a meditation on what it means to be human and how that contrasts against wanting to create harmony and efficiencies.

We also snuck in a syndicated little op-ed thing from Adam at OMG.lol about Juneteenth. I want to try syndicating good writing from other places to share here more often and this felt like the perfect place to start.

Lastly, the last edition of The Hiro Lab (for now) went live last night. This week Hiro looked at an outrageously expensive flashlight. Who knew they even sold flashlights for $700?!?!?

Had a ton of fun with the music that came out last Fridayโbut just wait for next week as TV makes it's triumphant return!

The last week of S5 with more Cavendish, some soccer, and more!
