πΊ New shows
πΊ UNTAMED (Netflix) β 17 July
Don't really know much about this one, but it's the only real show that seems to be premiering this week. It's from Mark L. Smith, who was also the creator of January's American Primeval, which was a surprise hit for me. This one follows Eric Bana as a Special Agent for the National Parks Service as he investigates a murder. It also stars Sam Neill and Rosemarie DeWitt.
πΉ Billy Joel: And So it Goes (HBO) β 18 July
I was never a big Billy Joel fan, but he obviously has some hits and I'm always excited to get a glimpse behind the curtains in musicians lives.

π½ Release of the week
π The Terrys by The Terrys
More Aussie indie alternative rock! Australia has been putting out some really, really great stuff recently, and The Terrys are no exception. Fun, upbeat, indie rock with a hint of cali surfer rock and even some hip-hop-esque flows in the spirit of someone like Dominic Fike or even The Dirty Heads. All in all, this is a must listen.

π Runner-ups
π Let God Sort Em Out by Clipse
The brothers are back! Really, really enjoyed this album, but I like almost everything Pusha T does. He just has that aggressive old school approach to his delivery that gets me every time. They also killed it on Tiny Desk.
π§ Adventure by Half Japanese
Apparently Half Japanese have been around forever, but this one was new to me and I loved this off-kilter indie rock that brings a little bit of Flaming Lips vibes to the table while also having some extra rawness a la Japandroids and it comes together for a wonderful album.
πΊοΈ Other Worlds and Habitats by The Sorcerers
Switching things up a bit here with some jazz! I'm not exactly up-to-speed on all the new jazz groups out there, but somehow this came up on my radar and I loved it. If you're up for some instrumental music and want to get jazzy this week, give it a go.
𧴠moisturizer by Wet Leg
Wet Leg is back with their sophmore effort and it's another banger. After my first listen, I'm not sure they will have a single that blows up quite like Chaise Lounge, but I think the album as a whole is much improved.
πͺ The Yips by Petey USA
Have to give a shout out to Petey who makes the most bonkers videos on social media and make some really great indie rock. Love seeing this guy find success.

- Tuff Times Never Last by Kokoroko

π¦Έ No. 1's
πΆοΈ Ghost Pepper (Image)
I'm not familiar with Ludo Lullabi's work as either a writer or artist, but based on the cover and the summary, I'm soooooo in for this one. The cover is a beauty and we get some warriors, robots, and... food trucks. Who doesn't want to navigate a treacherous world to serve some great food from a truck in a future post-apocalyptic type world.
π This Ends Tonight (Image)
From the creative team behind Seven Sons, which was a fun take on religion, Robert Windom, Kelvin Mao, and artist Jae Lee reunite for this book, and bring Gerry Duggan along as well as writer. This is the first of three interconnected stories about revenge in Vegas.
β°οΈ Catacomb of Torment (Oni)
And finally, the latest from Oni's EC line of anthology books kicks off with some great creative teams including a story from Matt Kindt with art by David Lapham.

π₯ New movies
π€ Eddington
I AM SO READY. Ari Aster is just a wild, weird, and patient filmmaker. All three of his previous films will stick with you whether you like them or not. There's no denying that. End of story. While Beau Is Afraid definitely wasn't everyone's cup of tea, I fell in love with it, especially those opening 20 minutes. I also love that every movie he does seems so different and Eddington looks like no exception.
π€’ Ick
This is the newest film from Joseph Kahn (Bodied, which I haven't seen), but I've listened to Kahn on Slash Film waaaay back in the day and he has a lot of strong opinions so it's cool to see him return behind the camera for this pulpy comedy horror. Oh, and Brandon Routh, former Superman, is in it.
