I worked hard to get this one out earlier, but it just didn't come together in time. It will look slightly different as we kick things off with one item from each category before diving deep into the individual sections. Our focus in these intros wonโ€™t necessarily be on the big-name albums or big-budget movies, but rather some of the lesser-known, more indie items that I think people should give a shot.

๐Ÿ“บ Hal & Harper S1 (MUBI)

MUBI got into the original movie game last year, but I think this might only be their second (if not first) original series. MUBI has had some controversy around it lately, but getting Mark Ruffalo for a series like this, coming off of Task feels like a huge get for the service as they expand into originals more.

๐Ÿ’ฝ Unfurl by Asaf Avidan

Jazz, soul, and blues, with a little bit of indie rock and a splash of hip-hop, plus a raspy voice and some killer drumming, make for an absolutely electric listen. You really can't put this one into a boxโ€”you just have to give it a listen.

๐Ÿฆธ Electric Cowboy (Silver Sprocket)

Silver Sprocket continuously puts out the best experimental, surreal, and fun comics and this sci-fi surreal comic from Ansel Kite is sure to deliver the goods.

๐ŸŽฅ Blue Moon

Blue Moon is the first of two Richard Linklater movies dropping this year. It is written by Robert Kaplow, who has basically zero credits to his name and is apparently a high school film studies and English teacher (right on!). Blue Moon tells the story of Lorenz Hart, one-half of the Broadway songwriting duo Rodgers and Hart, as he deals with alcoholism and mental health struggles. Ethan Hawke plays Hart alongside Margaret Qualley as Elizabeth Weiland and Andrew Scott as Richard Rodgers.
