too many murder related things coming out lately
pills pills pills
I cancelled my Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle over the weekend and now Kimmel is back. Youโre welcome, democracy. I haven't resubscribed yet because it feels a bit weird since every large media conglomerate now seems to move at the whim of the administration like they're all RT now.
And of course, Tylenol is now Foofaraw's number one enemy. We won't rest until every bottle of acetaminophen has been destroyedโscience be damned.
Lastly, if anyone has the phone number to the official ANTIFA organization, let me know. I'd love to learn how I can get paid to take free vacations and attend events. Sounds too good to be true, if you ask me.
Anyway, enough of all that, here's your weekly report on what's new this week. And maybe consider donating to our sponsor this week.
This weekโs ad slot was purchased by friend of Foofaraw, Evan Passero, in support of DIFFA Dallasโproviding critical financial support to North Texas AIDS service organizations that offer direct care to adults, families, and children living with or impacted by HIV/AIDS.
Foofaraw will match up to $300 in donations to DIFFA Dallas, Elevated Access, and Denton Community Food Center through the remainder of 2025.
Given they are for charity, weโve decided to display ads to our paid subscribers this week.
You can also go buy our dumb new shirt...
Sterlin Harjo, creator of the superb and overlooked, Reservation Dogs, is back with his second show. This time RD guest star Ethan Hawke takes the lead as a citizen journalist in Tulsa obsessed with the truth. It'll be nice to watch while I can...
Everyone's favorite sloppy Bitish agent is back. If I remember correctly, things should be continuting pretty directly from last season, based on how it ended.
Another show I'll be losing access to within the next two weeks. Really loved the first season and am looking forward to see how they tackle their second season.
Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, is back with a new show about the Guinness family set in Dublin 1868. He's also writing the next James Bond movie for Denis Villenueve... I'm a huge fan of Anthony Boyle as the only bright spot in some of Apple's shows last year (Masters of the Air and Manhunt) as well as the terrific Say Nothing.
The newest show from Melissa James Gibson, creator of Anatomy of a Scandal and writer on House of Cards and The Americans. The Savant stars Jessica Chastain as an undercover investigator who infiltrates online hate groups to take down extremists.
Stand-up comedian (among other things) Mae Martin follows up their previous Netflix show, Feel Good, with Wayward, this time acting opposite Toni Collette about a cop in a small town investigating a sketchy school for troubled youth and it's founder.
A stuningly beautiful record blending soul, jazz, r&b, and enough pop to get the normies through the door.
Fun, weird, and wild post-punk.
Fuzzy indie pop-punk of the good ol' days.
Robert Kirkman's newest book is a fantasy epic with artist David Finch. I've never been a fan of Finch's art, but others seem to like it and this feels like a pretty big swing with all the world-building going on.
New James Stakoe is reason enough to celebrate. He's following up the original Orphan from 2021/22 with a new mini-series as both writer and artist. If you've seen his art before, you know it's incredible already.
A new horror book about vikings and werewolves, telling the tale of why the vikings fled North America, from Joe Pruett and Marcelo Frusin.
This movie is going to win multiple Oscars, I can feel it. I don't know which awards it will take home, but it will take some homeโwithout a doubt. Although, my wife reminded me, whenever I feel this confident about something, the opposite typically happens. So make sure we are knocking on wood this week!
Directorial debut from Scarlett Johansson coming the same year she became the highest grossing actor of all-time. Big year for her. Reviews coming out of film festivals were middling, but I'm still excited to check this out eventually. Feels like a bit of a out-there choice for her debut though.
A new romance from Apple TV starring Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein, who also helped write the script, Imogen Poots, and a Foofaraw favorite, Murray Bartlett
