Happy Monday... hope you're in for another long and exhausting week. The first round of the NBA Playoffs gave us two seven game series', which had me in an absolute dizzy.
I want to start sharing cool things I find around the web a la The Hiro Report in these intros, but I didn't think of that until just now, so instead, you get another poorly written, boring introduction from yours truly. Andโ
Away.

Quiet week overall in TV, but one of the best shows of 2023 is back with its second season and the first three of twelve episodes dropping on day one. Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne struck gold with their throwback of a monster of the week detective show a la Columbo and I have no doubt they can recreate the magic from season one here.
I could be wrong, but I remember digging PUP's last record, but don't remember them rocking this hard. It was actually a bit surprising when I first threw it on Friday. Jeff Rosenstock, who we at foofaraw HQ are huuuge fans ofโHELLMODE was our #1 album of 2023โis featured on a couple tracks here, and is going on tour with PUP, but his influence is felt throughout the entire album. I can tell I'm going to be listening to this one on repeat for awhile.
If you are looking for some teenage angst shouty emo, boy have I found the album for you.
Continuing the dog theme of the evening, Cash Langdon gives us a bit of a singer-songwriter type vibe, but with a lot more fuzzy folk-like bite to it that makes for an enjoyable experience. This won't be making an top ten lists and I'm not sure how often I'll revisit it, but there's a lot of potential here that has me excited for what he might do next.
A new book with "Story by" Robert Kirkman, written by Benito Cereno, who has been out of the comics game for awhile, and art by EJ Su. It's about a bounty hunter with a talking gun set in a far future Earth where aliens have been integrated into society. Yeah, sounds pretty cool. Who doesn't love a talking gun.
This is a new book from Aubrey Sitterson that seems to go balls to the wall. If you like the early Image stuff a la Rob Liefeld, I think you'll find yourself a good home here. It's set in the first complete free planet in human history after winning its independence and now a group of heroes has to defend it against hostile intergalactic powers. Oh, and art by Jed Dougherty.
New Star Wars #1 from Alex Segura and Phil Noto. Pretty cool creative team even if I haven't been reading Star Wars books... This one follows a new adventure with Luke, Leia, and Han in the wake of Return of the Jedi.
If you aren't familiar with Jeff, you should be. This collects the It's Jeff Infinity comics 25-36 and Jeff Week Infinity Comics 1-5 from Kelly Thompson and artists Gustavo Duarte, Gurihiru, and Neo Fuji.
I have zero hope a Captain Planet comic from a team of creators I don't know (David Pepose and Eman Casallos) will actually be good, but I couldn't not include it given the run of solid comics Dynamite has managed to put out.
Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd together in what could be the comedy of the year and easily one of my most anticipated movies right now. It comes from writer/director Andrew DeYoung, who is also working on Tim Robinson's The Chair Company show for HBO, which is expected later this year. DeYoung has a lot of experience directing TV episodes for shows like Our Flag Means Death, DAVE, The Other Two, and Shrill. So I'm really excited to see his talents pair with Tim Robinson's absurdity, and Paul Rudd's Rudd-iness in a movie about adult male friendship.
This movie is not getting reviewed very well, but I've been digging the Josh Hartnett renaissance and he looks absolutely bonkers in it.
