s4e11—various villains vacate the village as wolves howl at the moon
So I got a puppy (picture at the end)... and this one feels like it's going to be a lot more work than my 10yo was when he was just a pup... We will still be chuggin' along here, but Sonic Vibrations will be on a slight hiatus. I'll still post some of the albums I'm excited about, but there's just too much going on for me to look at each one critically and have an opinion.
On with the things!
I'm not going to watch this. Middling reviews so far with the only positive for me (and the reviews) being Kaitlin Olson (Always Sunny). If you still watch comedies on ABC and other broadcast networks, this might be for you.
A new Marvel show... I don't know... The fact it's stemming from WandaVision and has some serious talent is interesting, but still... The marketing of them changing the name constantly and then having it be Agatha All Along was pretty clever though.
More animation! Based on Norse mythology with a Hans Zimmer score? Zack Snyder is behind this one, which... isn't necessarily a positive, but it could still be interesting.
The big release of the week. Colin Farrell as The Penguin set in Matt Reeves' The Batman world. I'm absolutely thrilled about this one.
This has been on my watchlist forever. Just waiting for the day to get MGM and binge it.
Biggest release of the week across any medium right here. Daniel Warren Johnson and Riley Rossmo, two of the best and unique artists in the game right now come together for one book. It's written by DWJ and features art from both of them. Seriously, this is one you don't want to miss—even if you don't read comics.
The third new book in TMNT land (following Jason Aaron's TMNT and Juni Ba's Nightwatcher) hits shelves this week. Tom Walz (writer of TMNT: The Last Ronin) is joined by Vincenzo Federici (artist of multiple TMNT books). This book looks to be more of an anthology like series, telling stories throughout various corners of the TMNT world.
A new mini-series that I'm going into blind without even knowing much about the writer or artist. It has Rick Remender's Giant Generator logo on it so I have faith that this book will deliver on that alone.
Jon Watts directs Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Amy Ryan in a comedy about fixers. This is going to theaters for a limited release Friday and then on Apple+ a week later on Sep 27.
I'm not really sure what this is about or how to talk about it. Sebastian Stan stars in this psychological thriller alongside Adam Pearson.
Mary-Louise Parker stars in this well reviewed, indie, sci-fi drama alongside Ayo Edebiri from writer/director Bernard0 Britto.
Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley star in this horror thriller that feels like Death Becomes Her without any of the comedy and maybe some body horror?
That's it! Again, a bit of a short one, but still some killer stuff to look forward to this week. As always, we will try to do better next time.
