If it were accessible, do you think you'd ever go down into the depths in a submersible?

Nope. Not a chance.

If not, what would it take to convince you?

Sorry, not for all the money in the world.

And if you saw they were controlling it with a video game controller, what do you think your reaction would be?

You’re kidding me, right?

Have you ever willfully done anything frightening like that? Skydiving, bungee jumping, etc.?

I’m trained in circus arts, so I know some aerial tricks.

Do you think you’ve ever felt something similar to what the characters felt while in the deepest depths?

I’m persistent with things, so I do understand the need to explore and go deep.

Do you think the characters reached enlightenment while in the depths?

Yes, there is pure bliss is embarking upon a quest. It’s a real high,

Was it a positive, negative, or neutral experience for the characters?

The negative is obvious—you are risking your one and only life. The positive is vast and expansive. Heady and glorious. Other people just don’t get it. Safety is the enemy.

Do you have any thoughts or opinions on rich people exploring the deep sea or space?

It would be better if money wasn't the barrier but it is. Rich people always have far off, expensive, gear ridden hobbies.

Do you believe there might actually be cryptids like the lochness monster or some other monstrous creature deep down in the depths?

Yes, we know so little about the depths compared to space. We barely know
anything, really. Exploration is much harder, so sure I believe in Loch Ness.

What’s your favorite recent short story?

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous

What book are you reading right now?

The Glass Hotel

Do you have any new writing you'd like to share?

I was lucky enough to have a collection of poetry THEY WERE HORRIBLE COOKS and a new novel KILLING THE FATHER OF OUR COUNTRY out recently.
